TRNCH ("we", "us", "our") operates trnch.app. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

When you use TRNCH, we may collect the following:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account when you sign up.
  • Search activity — the prompts you enter, mood selections, and reference movies you choose. We use this to provide and improve our recommendations.
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, session duration, device type, browser, and approximate location (country level). We collect this through Amplitude and Vercel Analytics to understand how people use TRNCH.

How we use your data

  • To provide movie recommendations based on your searches
  • To maintain your account and profile
  • To improve TRNCH and understand usage patterns
  • To send you a welcome email when you sign up

Third-party services

We use the following services that may process your data:

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting
  • Google OAuth — sign-in authentication
  • Amplitude — product analytics
  • Vercel — hosting and web analytics
  • Resend — transactional emails

We do not sell your data to anyone.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems.

To prevent abuse of free-plan limits, we retain a pseudonymized record of your feature usage counts (such as the number of searches performed) for up to 12 months after account deletion. This record is keyed by an irreversible cryptographic hash of your sign-in identity and contains no personal data — no name, email address, or content. It cannot be used to identify you and is used solely to apply the same free-plan limits if the same sign-in identity creates a new account.

Your rights

You can request to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data

Cookies

TRNCH does not use cookies for tracking. We use local storage for session management and anonymous usage counting.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
